"The two most abundant forms of power on earth are solar and wind, and they're getting cheaper and cheaper..."

Conservation of Energy

According to a recent study, the people of Missouri use fossil fuels for 93% of their energy needs - renewable sources account for only .01%. It’s time for the St. Louis area to get serious about renewable energy!

Options for renewable energy include wind turbines and solar panels. While implementing these systems can be expensive, the long-term benefits and savings cannot be ignored. Homes with these measures also have the ability to "give back" unused power to the local grid.

More mundane methods of responsible energy-use include simply turning off your lights when you leave a room, and unplugging anything that is being unused. According to the US Department of Energy, 75% of all energy used to power appliances is consumed when they are switched off.

Whether you are willing to take a baby step or a giant leap into energy conservation, being aware of energy suckers is always a healthy habit.
